07/04/07:   The 4th of July events were a huge success.  Tractor pulling, baseball games, softball tournaments, cake walks, bluegrass and gospel singing, and square dancing....these were the major events that drew an estimated crowd of 300 people for most of the day.  Thanks to all those involved, especially Larry Lawrence, Scotty Hampton, Stan Humphries, Carolyn Bland, Thelma Fowler, and countless others who volunteered time and effort to make the 4th a fun time.

07/01/07:   The sinkhole is fixed.  Thanks to the County Road Department and to the Soil Conservation Grant, the hole was filled and looks great.

06/24/07:   The new scoreboards have been erected on a couple of fields and look great.  Thanks to Scotty Hampton and Wallace Choate for their help.

06/24/07:   The Complex received a grant from the state worth more than $17,000 that will go toward new playground equipment, new fences, bleachers, and more!  You will see the new stuff this fall.

03/10/07:  Contruction on two new teeball/peewee fields begins.

03/10/07:  A "Fix-up Day" at the Complex occured on Saturday, March 10.  We had our around 55 volunteers sign in, and had around 100 people there throught the course of the day.  Volunteers painted, helped fix buildings, replaced boards, fixed fences, raked, filled holes up with dirt, removed "eye-sores", cleaned gutters, field, and do other odd jobs.  Judge Executive Stan Humphries, Magistrate Barry Littlejohn, Magistrate Doug Taylor, and Magistrate Kevin Terrell were present for the event and contributed to the effort.  Magistrate Larry Lawrence helped us out greatly--he ran the county's bulldozer getting the new fields leveled off.  Materials for the fix-up day were donated by Fourshee's and Cadiz Hardware. Food and Drinks for lunch were Hancock's Neighborhood Market and Food Giant.

02/12/07:   Finally, the Recreation Complex Board voted to create a NEW peewee field at the February monthly meeting.  We will also need help with this if we want to get it up and running before the season starts.  If interested in helping, let us know.  The fields are now a reality, and the Fiscal Court voted in their regular June meeting to pay for the fencing to go around the fences and make them playable this year.  Thanks to all who donated time, effort, and money.
